Sarah Maybell Whitley

In the early morning of June 14, 2025, Sarah Maybell (McDonough) Whitley, joined her husband, James Malcolm (Mack) Whitley in heaven. They had been married since March 6, 1965, Mack had gone on to heaven to prepare a home for them a year and a half earlier. Sarah was born on December 10, 1940, to Audy and Julius McDonough. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters, 1 brother, a nephew they had raised, Joseph B. Whitley, and a stillborn daughter, Sarah Edith.

Sarah is survived by her brother in law, Michael, and sister in law, Cherry Whitley, two nieces, Cindy Kilgore, Karen Lacey, many great and great-great nieces and nephews, a granddaughter, Penny Shaw (Travis), and great grandchildren.

Sarah enjoyed going out to eat, wearing bright colored finger nail polish, spending time at "The Hair Center," shopping, watching Christian and crime movies, and playing with her great-great niece, Nora, and her great nephews, Timmy and Noah.

A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM on Tuesday, June 17, 2025, at Jones Cemetery with Bro. Keith Foskey officiating.
