Judith Dianne Gaudette Chapman, 81, went home to be with the Lord, Her Savior, on 29 October 2025 at 4:40 am. Judith suffered with dementia with Lewy Body for the past 25 years that led to her passing. Judith was born in Lewiston Maine on 18 April 1944 and raised on the island of Southport just outside of Boothbay Harbor Maine. She served in the US Army Nurse Corp from 1962 to 1964. She returned home and eventually married and started raising her girls. Judith moved to Jacksonville Florida in September in 1982. She met her husband, Ray Roberts Chapman, and they were married 30 April 1983. Ray, Judith and Noelle are members of Lannie Road Baptist Church in Jacksonville Florida. Services will be held at the church on 22 November 2025 at 11 am. Officiated by her husband Ray and great granddaughter Noelle. A social gathering and celebration will be held in the social building following the church service. Internment of Judith’s ashes at the National Cemetery in Jacksonville Fl will be on 02 December at 11:00 am with full military honors. Internment ceremonies will be attended and officiated by our pastor Richard Wimber, Sr. (Buddy) and his wife Angela along with family members.
Judith is survived by her husband of 42 years, Ray R. Chapman. Her daughter Cynthia Lynn Motil (William Motil), Grandsons Jay-Rey Rivera (Amanda), Adam Rivera. Daughter Sarah Jane Woodbury, Grandson Joshua Ray Woodbury-Phipps (Kyle), GrandDaughter Gwendalynn Ida Chapman (Joshua Rice), Great granddaughter Noelle Ruby Chapman. Judith is pre-deceased by her father and mother, Paul and Gwendolyn Gaudette and her brother Norman Gaudette.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Deacons Benevolence Fund in honor of Judith Chapman at Lannie Road Baptist Church, 5998 Lannie Road, Jacksonville, Florida 32218.
