Donna Lurie Sandel

Donna Lurie Tompkins Sandel, 73, of Callahan, Florida passed away Monday, September 7, 2026 at her home.  She was born September 23, 1952 in Sylvania, Georgia to the late James Franklin Tompkins and Nell Lurie Lewis Tompkins.  She was a homemaker and of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years:  Edwin Ray Sandel; her sons:  Edwin Mark (Sabrina) Sandel of Jacksonville, Florida, Joseph Thomas (Erika) Sandel of Callahan, Florida and James Paul Sandel of Jacksonville, Florida; a brother:  James "Jimmy" (Reenie) Tompkins of Tampa, Florida; grandchildren:  Lucas Bryson Sandel and Briana Lurie Sandel; a special niece:  Kristi (Red) Harrison of Bryceville, Florida; nephews: Matthew (Dorie) McRae of Heath Creek, South Carolina and Robert Lyons of Callahan, Florida; great nephews:  Allan (Chloe) Harrison of Callahan, Florida and Alex McRae of Jacksonville, Florida; a special friend:  Kelly Raulerson of Callahan, Florida; uncle:  Clyde Drawdy of Sylvania, Georgia; and brother-in-law: Jim Sandel (Jackie).

Memorialization will be by cremation.
