Doc Owen

Harvey Lewis “Doc” Owen, Jr., 75, of Hilliard, FL passed away Wednesday, June 4, 2025 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born September 4, 1949 in Mars Hill, NC to the late Harvey Lewis Owen, Sr. and Flora Etta Ferguson Owen. He proudly served in the US Army and was a member of Ephesus Baptist Church. He retired from White Oak Plantation and later retired as a Control Room Operator with the Nassau County Sheriffs Office.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son: Michael Owen; a brother: Jack Ferguson and a sister: Sarah Ferguson Webber.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years: Linda Murray Owen; a son: Chad Owen; 5-Grandchildren: Kelsey (Harley, Jr) Frost, Brittney (Alex Nail) Owen, Carmen (Steven Mason) Owen, Corey Owen and Madison Owen; Great Grandchildren: Harley Frost, III, Hadley Frost, Hazley Frost, Mackenzie Nail, Aidyn Nail, Zayden Mason, Zayne Mason, Zaylen Mason, Kinsley Owen, Asher Owen, Easton Owen and Aaliyah Rose Tyson; a brother: Clark Owen and a number of nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Sunday, June 8 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home – Callahan Chapel, 617365 Brandies Avenue, Callahan, FL from 5-7 PM. Funeral services will be held Monday, June 9 at 12:00 PM at Ephesus Baptist Church with Pastor Marvin officiating. Burial will follow in Old Still Cemetery.
