Betty Strickland

Betty Jo "Jackie" Strickland, 89, of Hilliard, FL passed away Monday, August 10, 2026 at the Life Care Center of Hilliard.  She was born January 1, 1937 in Jacksonville, FL to the late Elliott Morgan Yancey and Ivie L. Harper Yancey.  She was a member of the First United Pentecostal Church of Fernandina and  Hilliard.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son:  Jay Dixon; a sister:  Christine Manning and 2-brothers:  Butch Yancey and Bubba Yancey.

She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law:  Alan & Anita Dixon, Toby & Amy Dixon, Larry & Lori Dixon; a daughter-in-law:  Cindy Dixon; 2-sisters:  Yvonne Norman, Frances Kelly; 2-sisters-in-law:  Patsy Yancey, Jane Yancey; 10-grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews and other relatives.

The family will receive friends Friday, August 14 at Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home - Callahan Chapel, 617365 Brandies Avenue, Callahan, FL from 6-8 PM.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, August 15 at 11:00 AM in the Shepard-Roberson Funeral Home - Callahan Chapel with Pastor Bruce Cubbedge officiating.  Burial will follow in Oakwood Cemetery in Hilliard, FL.
